Language Direct is a UAE based language school that has been providing online language lessons since 2004.
- Which languages do you teach?
Language Direct currently teach 41 languages, including Amharic, Arabic, Czech, Dutch, Chinese (Mandarin), Danish, German, Greek, English, Estonian, Finnish, Flemish, French, Gaelic, Swiss German, Hebrew, Hindi, Croatian, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Georgian, Korean, Latvian, Malay, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Sinhala, Spanish, Swedish, Swahili, Tagalog, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Urdu and Wolof. - Who are your teachers?
Language Direct's teachers are all native-speakers with a university degree in a language field such as linguistics, literature or translation, a teaching specialization, a minimum of 2 years teaching experience and experience with online teaching.
- How do I contact you?

- How do I register?
From the "Pricing" page, select how many lessons you want per week depending on your needs and availability; select the language you want to learn or improve and the duration of your course; enter your email address and then finalize your purchase. We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Please click here to visit the registration page.
- How do I book my lessons?
After registration, you will be invited to log in and select the time and day for your weekly lesson(s). Your appointments will be confirmed up to 12 weeks in advance, and you will receive an email listing all of your appointments. Lessons can be rescheduled up to 6 hours before lesson time.
- Do I need special software?
There is no special software to download. You only need a modern web browser and a landline telephone or Skype to speak with your teacher.
- Do I need an internet connection?
No, an internet connection is not necessary to complete lessons, although it needed if you want to connect with your teacher over the Electronic Whiteboard.
- Can I reschedule my lessons?
Yes, you can reschedule any lesson free of charge up to 6 hours in advance.
- How do I contact my teacher?
Your teacher will call you on your landline at lesson time. Alternatively, you can choose to dial into the virtual classroom through Skype or phone up to 5 minutes before the beginning of your scheduled lesson.
- Where can you call me?
We can call you on any landline telephone worldwide. At home, in the office or in a hotel room while you are travelling – wherever you are.
- Can I use different telephone numbers?
Yes, every lesson can have a different telephone number and numbers can be changed right before lesson time.
- What is the Electronic Whiteboard?
The Electronic Whiteboard is our interactive platform where teachers and students can share and work on written lesson material in real time.
- How long does a lesson last?
All lessons are 30 minutes long. You can have multiple lessons a week, depending on your needs.
- Are lessons available at all levels?
Yes, lessons are available at all levels, from beginner to advanced.
- Will my teacher speak my language?
All of our teachers are multilingual, and we will make every effort to find you a teacher who can communicate fluently with you in a common language, especially if your course is at the beginner level.
- Do you provide level assessments?
Yes, your teacher will make an level assessment during your first lesson, and after every 20 subsequent lessons. Assessments are provided in accordance with CEFR levels.
- What if I need to learn for a specific purpose?
If you need to learn a language for a specific purpose, (e.g. business, aviation, medical, etc.) just notify us and we will direct you to a teacher experienced in your field.
- Do I need a book?
The use of a book is optional. Teachers typically use materials from a variety of sources, but our teachers are also happy to work with a book if a student prefers.
- How will I track my progress?
Through your Student Portal you will be able to access Lesson Minutes, a written overview of your lesson, as well as an MP3 recording of each lesson. In addition, you will receive periodic evaluations of your progress from your teacher.
- Do you offer Certificate Courses?
Yes, we offer Language Direct CEFR Level Certificates and can also offer training for other internationally recognized standards (e.g. Cambridge Examinations in English, IELTS, TOFEL, etc.).
- Can I change my subscription plan?
Yes, you can change your subscription plan at any time by visiting your Student Portal. Changes to your plan will take effect from the next rebilling date.
- How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel your subscription at any time from your Student Portal or by sending us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
- I'm signing up under an airline partner promotion. When will my miles be credited?
Miles are generally uploaded to our frequent flyer partners weekly. It may, however, take the airline a little longer to process your miles.
- Do I have to pay for the phone call?
Telephone costs are included in the price of your lesson for all lesson calls received from our system. If you choose to dial into your lesson from a mobile or landline telephone, you will be subject to standard charges.
- Can I get a refund for unused lessons?
No, Language Direct has a strict no refund policy. Purchased credits are non-transferable and non-refundable.
- Do you store my credit card details?
No, we use a secure third party service for storing and processing credit card details.
